I've had to pick a new city with a blank sheet. More than once.
I'm Jan, a designer originally from Prague. More than once I've been in exactly the situation this app is built for: needing to decide where to move with only limited information to go on.
The list so far: British Columbia in Canada, then Montreal, then Calgary in Alberta. Puerto Escondido in Mexico. Auckland, then Wellington, in New Zealand. And now I'm eyeing the move across the ditch to Australia.
Every one of those moves started the same way: forum threads, out-of-date blog posts, and other people's opinions about places they'd visited once. I always wished there was a tool like Kiwi Compass, something that would take my actual life, work, hobbies, budget, the people coming with me, and give me clear, up-to-date data on what living in each destination would really be like. That wish is what inspired me to build this.
If it saves you even one of the wrong turns I've taken, it's done its job.
